Sooners No. 8 in Preseason Polls

Both the AP top 25 poll and the USAToday poll ranked Oklahoma number 8 in preseason polling. The rest of the top 10 for the AP poll included:

- Virginia Tech
- Louisville
And for the USAToday poll:

Oklahoma took 1,166 votes in the AP poll and 1,026 in USAToday. The Sooners take on North Texas at home for the first game of the season September 1.
Sooner Scrimmage

Sooner fans who can’t wait for the beginning of football season can get their first look at the team in action this weekend. The Oklahoma Sooners will hold their first scrimmage game of the 2007 season this Saturday, August 11th. The start time of the game is 11am and admission is free to the event. Gates will open at 9:30am, and fans should enter through gates 1-7 as the rest of the gates will be closed.
Fans will be treated to a complimentary 2007 Sooner roster that will be freely available at the scrimmage. Seating for the scrimmage will be in the lower east and west bowls. Concessions will be located on the east side while there will be a portable stand on the west near gate 1.
Prohibited items in the stadium are the same as with any normal Sooner football game. Cameras are not allowed in the stadium during scrimmages. Fans can bring a clear, empty bottle that can be filled in the stadium if they so desire
